Saptari a part of Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. Its district headquarters is Rajbiraj. Saptari is an Outer Terai district. This district covers an area of 1,363 km2 (526 sq mi) and has a population (2011) of 639,284[1] which makes it the 10th most populated district of Nepal. Saptari is renowned for its agricultural output and is bordered on the east by the massive Sapta Koshi river.

Siraha District is a district in Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. It is situated in the Terai belt of Nepal. The district, with Siraha as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,188 km2 (459 sq mi). It has a population of 637,328 according to the census of 2011. The majority of the population here is Yadav, Tharus, Muslims, and ethnic minorities with the majority population speaking Maithili language and Nepali language.

Dhanusha District is a part of Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. It is situated in the Outer Terai. The district, with Janakpur as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,180 km2 (460 sq mi) and has a population (2011) of 754,777.

Mahottari District is a part of Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Jaleshwar as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,002 km2 (387 sq mi) and had a population of 553,481 in 2001 and 627,580 in 2011. Its headquarters is located in Jaleshwar, a neighboring town of the historical city of Janakpur. The name Jaleshwar means the 'God in Water'. One can find a famous temple of Lord Shiva in Water there. Jaleshwar lies at a few kilometers distance from the Nepal-India border and has a majority Maithili population. In Janakpur zone there are two districts; Mahottari and Dhanusha and both are at a distance of 1 hour.

Sarlahi is a part of Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. According to new laws, a combination of more than 2 or 4 villages makes a municipality, which covers an area of 1,259 km2 (486 sq mi) and had a population of 635,701 in 2001 and 769,729 in 2011.

Rautahat District is a part of Province No. 2, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district headquarter is Gaur, including municipalities like Garuda, Chandrapur, Paroha , covers an area of 1,126 km² and had a population of 545,132 in 2001 and 686,722 in 2011. This district has a total of 2 VDCs and 16 municipalities. Among other districts, Rautahat has the largest percent of Muslims in Nepal, about 19.465% (106,111 persons in 2001).The most muslim densely Village Bairiya (in Rautahat district) is an example for secularism in Nepal.Sri Ram Sugar Mill is the only sugar mill located in Garuda municipality.The well known shiva temple located in Shivnagar, which run by giri family.The historical temple of Goddess Durga is in Matsarri.Late Shri Gulab Narayan Jha, the first person to represent madhesis in politics, was permanent resident of this Village.

Bara District lies in Province No. 2. It is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Kalaiya as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,190 km2 (460 sq mi) and has a population (2011) of 687,708. Bakaiya, Jamuniya, Pasaha, Dudhaura and Bangari are the main rivers of Bara. The main languages spoken in Bara are Bhojpuri, Bajjika, Tharu and Nepali.

Parsa District is a part of Province No. 2 in Terai plain, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Birganj as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,353 km2 (522 sq mi) and has a population (2001) of 497,219. According to the locals, Parsa is named after Parsagadhi temple situated in the district.
